Hi all,

After finding out that one-half of local mental health providers are not accepting new clients, while at the same time, rates of suicide ideation and attempts are increasing (particularly among teens and older adults), I wanted to do something good and make the world a better place. I know that Mental Health America of Fredericksburg has unique programs that are helping meet these challenges, but they need our support to meet increasing service demands.

One call to MHAfred's HELPLINE jumpstarts a search for help, providing a curated list that meets someone's needs - insurance, services, and accepting new clients. Other programs mitigate risk factors for suicide among high-risk groups. For teens, there is Suicide Prevention Education. For older adults, Senior Visitors offers companionship. Also, support groups include help for parents raising children with mental health challenges and needed grief support for those who lost a loved one to suicide. Our support is helping to save lives — and you can be a part of it.

I just started a fundraiser for MHAfred!
