Yoga Versus Yoga Therapy—What Is the Difference and How Can Yoga Therapy Help My Clients?
As part of Mental Health America of Fredericksburg's networking events for local mental health providers, this workshop examines the possible benefits for clients referred to a certified yoga therapist.
Local mental health providers are invited to have a conversation with Rebekah Conrad, a C-IAYT, E-RYT500 trauma-informed certified yoga therapist based in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Rebekah started her personal yoga journey 15 years ago when she was looking for ways to find relief from chronic neck and back pain and work-related stress. Inspired by the positive results, Rebekah completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2010. She soon began honing her teaching skills to modify practices for students in her classes with physical limitations and chronic health conditions. As more of her students approached her with questions about their unique needs, she decided to further her education beyond teaching to include yoga therapy.
In January of 2022, Rebekah completed a 900-hour, IAYT-accredited yoga therapy program to become a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT). The founder of Bodhi Leaf Yoga LLC, Rebekah, now works one-on-one with individuals facing physical or mental health challenges to tailor holistic yoga therapy plans to their unique natures, needs, abilities, and lifestyles.
